I've been here since Wednesday evening and so far it's been a great experience and everything I'd hoped it would have been. I'll post a travel report soon (Karina is in the shower so I only have a few minutes to post here, then it's off to the Gold Museum).

The apartment SouthernRoller rented to me is everything advertised and more. I'm in a really modern building in Javerinia Barrio (I would say it's strata 5 area), located in North Bogota on Carrera 6 and 45th.

The apartment is fully stocked and as a matter of fact - Matt (SouthernRoller) was kind enough to stock the place with beer and bottled water for me so I would not have to find a place late at night when I first arived - Club Colombian beer is really good!

The building is totally secure with an armed guard in the lobby on duty 24/7, and taxis constantly arrive right in front of the building, so no waiting to go anywhere.

My apartment has everything I could ask for (coffee maker, iron, satellite tv, great shower with all the hot water you could ask for and is tastefully furnished). Also - really important items is that there is an elevator which apparently not all buildings here have (trust me, being on the 6th floor - you WANT an elevator).

All in all, I really like this apartment and I'm already making plans to return here for another visit in June - I'll definitely rent from Matt again.

More to follow guys, Karina just got out of the shower and even though I'm not particularly thinking about food right now we're headed to crepes and waffles.

Chao!

Al

P.S. If you guys want me to I'll take some photos of the apartment and post them. Let me know
Glad you're having a good time Al,
I'd like to see some photos.

Hey guys,

How is everyone? Well I am glad to hear Al likes the apartment so much and having a blast on his first trip to Colombia. You can check out my website to see more pics and info. apartamentosantafe.com Different apartments located throughout the city. Only in the better areas. Chico, Rosales, Javeriana. Studios, 1br, 2br. Cheaper then most hotels in that big city and everything you need included. Full kitchens, internet, cable, gas, electric. Anyways let me know anything else you need or questions. I know the city pretty good too, but so do other guys here. But always willing to help.
I am from Florida and in pipefitters union out of Tampa. I spend about 6 months a year down in Bogota. So a little info so you know.
Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Thanks Matt

Cuba,
I don't think you'll be disappointed in staying in one of SouthernRoller's apartments, and you're right - it's nice to support a fellow gringos.com member.

Al
