Default Cali, Colombia Hotels

I am by far no expert on Hotels in Cali but I have stayed at 2.

Intercontinental, from what I am told is by far one of the best Hotel Chains in colombia. Now I walked in off the street to get my reservation. After seeing prices of over $125, I got my room for about $100 a night, of course the dollar was better than to... I seam to believe that you can get better rates in person than over the internet!!!

Intercontinental; fantastic service everyone there was extremely helpful, the room was very nice, and the food was great. Obviously in a place like this you are gonna pay top dollar for room service and other services, like internet, they have a intenret business room with 4 computers, it was never full. Always had access, there is also access in the rooms but it also isn't cheap.

Located in the north and close to many restaraunts and of course avenida sexta and Chiipchape is a $3 dolla taxi ride away! One thing I noticed is that there were many governement official and army officials there. Always had serious security on site. Which was fine with me, thay also have their own taxi drivers and when you need to get one off the street they take the license plate number and clear the driver. Seams a little over done, but not a big deal and I felt very safe there!

The other I stayed at was in the South:

Metropolis; it had its "HAY DAY", and it is definetely over now, but still decent accomodations, apparently it is the place where all the professional soccer teams stay when in town. I stayed in the penthouse there, now that may sound great but the room was average! The views were over the top, great views of tres cruzes and the mountains surrounding Cali. Never really explored the serviecs, but the food was average. I paid $80 a night for the penthouse and if I was serious about a gal and staying in the South of cali, I would probably stay there!

I stayed here 3 years ago and liked it just fine. I had their Jr. suite advertized at $90 per night for $40 or $45. Juanambu is a very nice neighborhood. A few minutes to ChipiChapi and the Intercontinental.

Hotel staff is great and chica friendly. Breakfast is served for 2 right in your room. Taxis had a hard time finding it at times. I don't have champagne taste in hotels. The place was clean, the bed just fine, coded lock boxes in the rooms, a small sitting room separate from the bedroom and kitchen.

My safe screwed up and they had a serviceman there in a NY minute! Very nice touch.

I doubt I'll ever go to Cali again, but if I did I would stay there.

They're the kind of people you just like doing business with.

While in Cali I stayed at the Metropolis Hotel. It cost around $70USD a night for a single room. The rooms were large and clean. The closets are built of wood and seem to have added an extra shelf. Unfortunately, the shelf means that none of your shirts will actually hang in the closet without dragging the tails on the shelf.

Water pressure was good and plenty of hot water.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Palmetto mall which is a nice place to hang out. I was wearing of going any of the other directions at night.

Shared the hotel with several soccer teams.

A simple breakfast of eggs, toast, fruit and juice was included. I didn't eat in the small restaurant otherwise.

24 hour security guard and a friendly staff who understood enough english.

Not new but clean.

If I need to be in the south this is where I would stay.

When I go to Cali I stay at the elPenon hotel. It is around the corner from the Dam and the International. Cost is $60, nice rooms.
