Default China

Has anyone been to China in the last few years? I am thinking Beijing or Shenzhen because of the easy to get there. If anyone has any helpful suggestions or comments I could sure use them.

Thanks

Why go to China? Everything around you was made there. Of course maybe you would enjoy seeing where the US economy went.

I have been to Beijing and Shanghai several times. What are you looking to do there? It will be a rather expensive trip. I'm sure the plane ticket is not cheap, and the hotels there are not all that cheap either.

Are you wanting to tour? Or are you wanting to meet women?

Recon,

Five or six years ago, in a fit of boredom and during a conversation at Happy Hour, a heavy hitter friend, suggested I move permanently to China. He made this comment not knowing I had studied the Chinese language for 5 years and have made a number of trips to Asia. (He later took his own advice.)

I think that there will be many opportunities, both for companionship and business, in China during the next couple of years. All depends on what you would like to do.

Is the question concerning just a visit?

Reason I did not go was because my mistress , at the time, was very demanding. I just did not feel that she (in the physical form of a sailboat) would enjoy the trip after we arrived in China. Ah relationships of all sorts pull us in different directions.

Thanks for your responses!

The plane tickets are from $1000-$1600 or 70,000 AA miles

I have a time share I can use in Beijing or Shenzhen so that will cost about $70 to transfer. Also, I have heard those two cities are friendly. Shanghai I have heard is not.

My trip is really to be able to see a different culture and see different sites. I have traveled Europe and Latin America so I thought why not something new?

Meeting a good girl is never very far down my list of "what to do" for sure.

My 2 cents is on Bejing, I have heard some negative comments about shanghai hospitality. Bejing is a choice r and r location for UN workers in that neck of the world. I have not been, but have heard you can find everything there, and the most advanced electronics - items that have not made it to the states yet.

China pay for the bailout? Where do you think much of that money is going? Wake up indeed! We are paying the very same robber barons that caused the collapse! Is this a great country or what!
(if you are a robber baron, of course).
The auto unions are furious because their raises won't be what they want because of the bailout. The average line worker makes $53. AN HOUR! Have you driven a Ford lately? Yeah, it was built in Korea!

Quality cares AND quality cars!

What makes you think it is warm here? Just because we are just 4 degrees north of the equator?
And believe me, it is cold enough! (at least the bourbon in my glass is!)
