Default My Visa plans

I'm posting this for any ideas and/or suggestions that might help me make this process easier and/or help me stay longer.

1st off, my father is Colombian, but he has not been back for 40 something years. He is currently working on getting his cedula in the states through the consultate, then as I understand, he can nationalize me and I can have my dual citizenship. In the meanwhile, I plan to arrive on a 60-90 day tourist visa, check out some spanish schools and enroll at a school that will help me get my student visa. I will continue to renew the student visa as long as I can until an apply for citizenship under my fathers nationality.

Hello and welcome,

I imagine you are over and 18 and would have to be to be on this board. You are out of luck to get citizenship because your father did not do this when you were young. Even if he tried to put the papers through for you now , the problem is you are to old. From what I have read lately you are out of luck. I hope I am wrong.

Thanks for the response but this is incorrect info as we have been to the consulate and are going through the process. The rule is that if you under 25, then it is very easy to get nationalized, but once you are over 25, the process is much more involved including background checks and takes much longer, up to 2 years.
