Maybe I will be the one who is suprised, looking at some of the posts around here lately.
Lets see, the novia has a son, and I will meet him for the first time on this trip. Any suggestions on this one boys.

I knew before coming here that the male children were very spoiled. When I got here I was amazed at just how spoiled the boys are. They are spoiled beyond belief by their mothers, grandmothers and tias. Dealing with junior was the single hardest thing that I had to do. I spent a lot of time getting very pissed off and playing bad cop, good cop was nowhere to be found. Things NOW are very good. Part of that is junior wanted a father more than he wanted to be spoiled. Part of that is Dora being on board and acknowledging her own part in the spoiling of junior. I made many mistakes, and had a real lack of patience too many times, at times it was VERY hard. I know that Dora thought that I was way too hard, but I HAD to break the habits that she and junior had. Now we are in a very good place and the credit goes to everyone in the family. I guess that we all wanted to be together and make it work. I know that if I asked junior and Dora if it was worth all the crap that we ALL went through, they would both say yes without reservation. And there are several male kids in the family and they are ALL the same, just a matter if degree. I would certainly go through it
all again, as we now have a very happy family and we are all very comfortable with each other. There is nothing that I would not do for Dora OR junior, I love them both very much. Good luck and have patience, don't let my post scare you, but it is the way that it is here.

Ah yes, "1,2,3 what are we fightin' for....don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam" days. I hope your tour of duty wasn't too hard troop.
Here is a LINK to take you back to some nicer aspects of the 60's. Enjoy!

Micky,
It is really funny you mention this.....one of the other guys, I think it was Charlie 64, would only date women with daughters. I saw this first hand when I was dating Paola in Bogota....her nephew was the most spoiled child I had EVER seen in my life. What a little monster. No wonder Colombian men treat their women the way they do....and the funny part is that the women spoil the boys and then complain about the men.....
UW
ps....Micky, I am coming to Medellin to see you and Tinto. That is if Tinto has time to hang with me in between all his internet dating.....hahahaha
I don't know if Micky will be around when you get here but I would enjoy meeting you. Be sure to give me a holler before you come. BTW, when will you be here?

Tinto....
I think you and I could get into some trouble together......
Late March or April.....anything going on that I should not miss during this time frame????
Check the internet, but I think the jazz festival is in March, not sure. I thought junior was the most spoiled, but that is not the case, it is cultural wide deal. And I have talked to a couple of Dora's friends, as well as Dora about that they create the very monster they end up disliking. And they fes up to it, but nothing will change. I will miss you, but Tinto has the place wired and he will lead you astray!
Has anyone eaten at The Four Seasons (Los quatros Estaciones) in Bogota? Its just down the street from La Fragata and The World Trade Center. I have a date for my birthday and an Amerivcan friend in Bogiota suggested this place as elegant, great good and about $80 USD maximum with 2 glasses of wine.
