So I have had this bucket list of things I always wanted to do in colombia. Aside from visiting every major city and 100's of pueblos, the big festivos, touring colombia on a motorcycle, extreme sports in san gil, chica mocha, etc. etc. etc.
Well needless to say my bucket list has been large and Carnaval has always been way up on my list. I made it this year just returning from some business in Bogota and carnaval.
At this point in my travels there really isn't much more that I would like to do there except visit leticia and get my company really moving forward.
Carnaval in Barranquilla is similar to that in rio and mardi gras all are set in a timeline that ends on Ash wednesday, a catholic holiday. They all seem very different, although I never have been to rios, I have been to mardi gras and as much as I would like to go to Rio the largest, I am super stoked I made it to this. It is one of those events that for me is a once in lifetime thing, meaning I dont need to make a habit of it, I have done it and now I can cross it off my list.
If you love colombian music like I do than this is a great place to go and have fun. The last 4 days from las saturday till wednesday was litterred with parades, the streets were swamped with people from all over the world and Rumba was on (to say the least) 4 days of serious partying , dancing till the wee hours than getting up and doing it all again.
I will try to share more about what happened, for now here are some of LL's Favorite pics.

Everyone agrees the girl in the sunglasses, could be my wifes twinner.....
Nice pics. You have briefly mentioned a few times that you are doing business in Colombia. If you are inclined to share, I would sure like to hear a little about that. It seems that very few Americans have been able to find business ventures worthwhile and commercially viable in Colombia.
