Default Gringo In Barranquilla

It has been a little quite on the trip report section for awhile...I am in Barr. now and will post a trip report soon. It is hot here as usual.

Good news is that American Airlines has an office here open across from the Buenavista mall. Direct flights to Barr. from Miami begin next month. Avianca needs some competition.

Hope that you are having a great time. We will be waiting for your TR, as they are always well done. Question, LD you seam to have a real liking for BAQ, if that is true, can you give us your take on that when you have the time? Again, have a great time LD.

Love - Micky

Mick-

Sorry for the late response.

I like Barranquilla for a number of reasons, but I don't have any special reasons for going there other than visiting another city in Colombia. I like to explore a city and then move on to the next. I don't city hop. I like to visit until I feel its time to move on. Some guys like to city hop. I am one who likes to go to the same city many times then I will move on. I like to build relationships with the locals. I have visited Cali many times and have great friends there thru numerous visits. I just decided Barr. after several years of not going Colombia. In relationship with girls here. I said I would like to try another city and went there and I am still exploring. If I don't find a serious relationship in Barr. I will go to Med. next, and other countries.

However I do like the coast because I like to be close to the ocean. I like Santa Marta and Cart. Going to those places really make me feel like I am on a vacation when I'm there. Barr. is boring in terms of things to do and see.....but ......you will see more pretty girls per square inch this side of Cali. Mark will disagree of course, but in my opinion Barr. has more pretty girls walking around than Cart. It is all relative and subjective, just my two cents.

I will be coming to the coast for more visits. I may buy a condo in Cart. I like it that much.

Cuba,
Did you mean Cartagena? Cali isn't a coastal city.

C.A.

There are more people of african decent, but I don't see them because of where I stay when I am in Barr. I think its the north part of the city, You mainly see morenas and trigena (sp) and blanca people in this area of town. This is most affluent part of Barr,

Many times I have been in the Buena Vista mall and you will not see one person of negro color in the mall. Just the facts man. The economic facts. If I go to El centro you will see a lot more. And of course other neighborhoods.
