Default Things To Do BAQ

I was in BAQ for a few days and could not find much of a nightlife. Where are all the restraurants and bars? The palce was mostly industrial and depressing. It is nice by the El Prado Hotel but that seems to be it. Even taxi drivers said there is not much to do. Besides teh pretty ladies, why would someone go to BAQ when you have other cities to choose from?

Well ph55, You can only go to the zoo so many times. I liked it, but once in two weeks is my limit. You can go to Las Flores, on the banks of el Rio Magdalena, for a fish-dinner. Read the Lonely Planet guide specifically for Barranquilla. There's not a lot for the tourist as sightseer. It helps to have people to visit. Happy Trails/Feliz Viaje

If you want anything more than dinner and the movies or a disco, then Bogota is your destination. While there are cultural events in Cali, Medellin and Baq they really don't seem to have a cultural base the way Bogota does. Fortunately the girls you will meet in the other places LOVE dinner, movies and the disco. (even the zoo)

So Bogota has more of a nightlife? I have been reading the boards and it seems like there really isn't much of a nightlife anywhere. Not to mention that after reading the thread about the "street cleaners" I am not so sure that I really want to go out at night anyway.

Are you kidding PAUL. Bogota has a 24/7 nightlife and it is very happening, Medellin , Cali, BUca and some of the other cities there night life is more like wed or thursday thru saturday! But still plenty of fun!!!!

Dancing and dancing and dancing, Hopefully you like to dance!!!!

Barranquilla really starts to come alive on JUARNES as the locals call it, translated its when you take Thursday & Friday together. Thursday starts the party as if it was a Friday and goes through to Saturday. Sunday is more of a relax day maybe go to the movies. Its weird but they have this unsaid rule that its not good for a women to be playing pool at a pool hall.

I think on the night life it really counts what you are looking for. I really did not find any large bars with bands ect. They did have a nice beach that when you get out of the water you had sea weed all over you. I myself went to Santa Marta with my girlfriend and son. The beach was great and was packed with woman. The only thing I got tired of was the people trying to get you to go to their hotel.
