Default Custom with flowers..

I was talking to this young lady in Cali, and suggested I might send her flowers. I've been in a flower mood lately.

She said. "Flowers are for the dead".

Is this a commonly held belief in Colombia?

Just curious..

cada tipo de flores tiene su significado.

Las rosas rojas son un bonito mensaje de coqueteria o de amor, pero solo se deben enviar cuando tengas algun tipo de sentimiento, no por simple etiqueta.

No, it's not. Maybe flowers are a bit premature, but she sure told you how she feels about them!

FWIW as to giving flowers in general: I've seen women everywhere go nuts over them! If you want to double her pleasure, send her over to me; I mean send the flowers to a woman at her workplace. They love having a nice arrangement when their female coworkers have none. They show off flowers like a new rock on their finger.

Flowers are a bit cheaper though and the results that night will be the same
