Palmira is about a 15 minute drive from the river (Cauca) that you cross on the way to the airport if you are in a cab or private car. ... a little longer by bus, all provided there isn't bad traffic. As for the safest way to get there, it depends on the kind of danger you are concerned about. The area is generally safe to drive all the time. I can't say anything about safety in Palmira late at night as I've never hung out there. Taking the Palmira Express should be plenty safe for most of us. You can get this bus at the terminal in Cali or on the way to Palmira.

Okay...you are in Palmira as soon as the airplane lands in Alfonso Bonilla Aragon airport [Cali]. Palmira is really nice and quiet, only 15 minutes away from Cali and all of its glory. There are two routes, the longer one will traverse via Yumbo (dont take that). Just go to the national arrivals/departure side of the airport and take a colectivo to the bus terminal. From there you can get a cab to your final destination without being raked over the coals with the cab fare.

It would take me about 30 min. or so in light traffic to get from my place in Granada to Palmira. There isn't anything unsafe about going to Palmira or staying there.

I am almost an expert in going to and returning to Palmira.

I have a house there that is currently for sale.

Living in the North (Barrio Vipasa), it takes me about 20 minutes in bus to arrive at the bus station. You can take the large green bus, Palmira Express (cost about $1.40), or the minibus Lineas Panaroma (about $2.00).

The buses seem safe to me, but I almost always go with a Colombian.

More interesting to me, is why you would want to go to Palmira?

How much do you want for the house? How many rooms? ...Square meters? Would you be interested in trading it for a condo in Unicentro?

Hello lostagain.

I am a little bit surprised to get a response so soon. I almost logged off without checking new posts.

Let me describe the house. It is a "row house" located in a barrio named Portales de las Palmas.

It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, two stories with a balcony. If you have a further interest, I will look up the dimensions in the escritura.

The selling price is $35,000,000 pesos Colombianos. Imagine a price like this in the US! I do have photos that I can email you if you are interested.

I have to say that I like living in the North and probably would not be interested in trade.

I will run it by my wife, who knows Palmira much better than I. Now I have to figure out what to do with the condo. They are going for way more than your selling price.
