Default Forget the Hotel and go the Cruise Ship Route

I don't think anyone has mentioned this as a viable option...... but if your sure your Novia is not after your $$ and you want to pamper her.... why not hop on a cuise ship in Cartagena??

True... Cartagena is NOT a point of embarkation of any of the major cruise lines BUT this does not stop you from making arrangements with the Cruise Line to board their... or at any port of your choosing. As long as you paying the regular price they really don't care.

THe best resource by far for researching the possibilties is:

http://www.cleancruising.com.au/port.asp?port=COCTG

You can determine dates and itinaries VERY FAST !! Click on the Orange Triangle and it will show the full INFO. Its a GREAT website !!

Check out Royal Carribean - Enchantment of the Seas in January and Febuary !! Looks GREAT!! The second stop is Cartagena.. and the next is Santa Marta .. and the rest of the stops sound great too.
Ofcourse the only issue is that the cruise is NOT a round trip to Cartagena.... so you will need to take a short plane ride from Panama back to COLOMBIA. This should not be such a big deal since you probably had to fly to Cartagena anyway.... so why not flyback from Panama?? Besides... if think the airport in Panama is a large international airport.. so you could fly back to the USA directly from Panana if you wanted to. Make sure she brings her Passport!

Spend a few days touring Cartagena and then tell her your changing hotels ( and countries) ... this will be a surprise......

Sounds like a very viable option if you want to bring your Colombiana on a cruise..

Let me know if you need a reasonable place to stay. Condo on the beach great ocean views and city views , as close to the beach as you can get. In thE ADC building, but these apartments are really nice well kept..clean, affordable, and dare i say hot water.

Okay, a trivia question:

Which ship is the biggest?

RMS Queen Mary

Carnival Splendor

RMS Titanic
