I was invited recently to a small community about 2 hours away from Medellin called Cauca Viejo for a photo shoot. It’s an interesting little community that is a place for people to purchase lots for weekend or vacation homes. One neat idea is that the homes can only be built in a Colonial style between 1880 and 1930. The homes are very beautiful and I think all of them are required to have pools. They are very spacious, with an elegant old world charm with the exteriors being works of art, each home painted differently with various designs. Go to this web site: www.caucaviejo.com/prueba then press entrada and all the photos on that site I took (except the aerial shot of the city). There is a 360 degree view from the town square and then a larger photo to the right. Press the refresh button on your browser and a new photo should appear each time. There are 30 or so photos loaded up and more to come under the various links found on that page. It might be worth investing in this small community as I'm sure that property values there will continue to rise.

Thumbs up

Interesting information and great pics. I wonder how Cauca Viejo compares to El Pinol? Thanks Tinto.

Thanks man. I prefer El Penol over Caucaviejo because the latter is not a real city but rather a gated community for weekend get aways or vacations. I also think there is more to do regarding water sports, etc. in El Penol and the weather is more agreeable.

BTW, the link above is no longer working. To see the web site visit www.caucaviejo.com
