Colombia Bombing Kills 17, Injures Dozens at Festival

By Thomas Penny
(Bloomberg)

A bomb exploded in the Colombian town of Ituango, 30 kilometers west of Medellin killing 17 people and injuring as many as 50, Agence France-Presse reported, citing local authorities. Residents and tourists were in the streets for a festival when the blast happened at around 11:00 p.m. local time yesterday said Ituango fire chief Jairo Calle. He didn't say who was thought to be responsible for the attack. More than 25 people with serious injuries, including three children were flown by helicopter to a hospital in Medellin, the nearest major city.

Wow, I was just in Medellin for Fiera de Los Flores. They had alot of security, and some of the events requiered a metal detector sweep prior to access. How sad to have internal terrorism. Regardless of who claims responsibility, I would bet money that it was narco related in one way or another.
