I attended last weekend's Cabalgata Feria de las Flores in Medellín. I was eagerly looking forward in attending some of the numerous events as I was unable to attend last year’s festival. The Cavalcade (Cabalgata) features thousand of the well known Colombian Paso Fino horses parading through town many adorned with beautiful fresh cut flowers. The parade started at 1:00 PM and continued until 7:00 PM.
An interesting read on these unique horses can be found on this link:
Many streets were closed for traffic and the main route of the parade was one of the freeways going through town. It drew huge crowds with much partying, socializing, drinking, eating and listening to music. Even some of the horses were outfitted with saddle bag style boom boxes blaring out the traditional Latin beat. What brought more attention and cheers from the crowd though was when a fine filly specimen (the two legged variety) would ride by. It wasn't too difficult figuring out when one of these well endowed ladies was parading by as you could hear a growing louder by the second roar from the crowd much like a “wave” at an American football game, of course with much more enthusiasm, fueled on in part by the copious amounts of Aguardiente that was being consumed. That old cowboy, Andy Devine would have enjoyed the show seeing so many cute Jiggles struttin along. The Latin men and few fortunate gringos in attendence sure did. I even think the lady bystanders got to hollering.
I decided to bring my camera along not only for some digital perpetuity but also to show some ordinary everyday photos of some of the many attractive women that were participating in the parade as well as milling about. It soon became apparent that a 2 gig flash card could get filled up quickly with so many beautiful Paisa subjects.
Every sort of lady was there in attendance and hopefully from the few photos I have displayed on my Picturetrail account you can tell that the women here are indeed very beautiful. I saw many that were real stunners. Many of the ladies were not at all shy as those that saw me taking their photos smiled for the camera.
My account name at Picturetrail is Tinto1 (can you believe some other guy got my name? The nerve!) and in true escondido Calipro form, my password is a six letter name for the wonderful women here in Antioquia, all caps.
