I thought Eddie was the guy who found his
girl in Cartagena, but I guess he is still looking.

The people in Colombia all sal Medellin is
the best city, most beautiful women etc..

But little trip reports from gringos to confirm.

Yes, I did find love in C/gena! But if you fly Avianca, you can visit another city in Colombia for free! Example I'm flying Miami - Medellin - C/gena - Miami all for $500. I have been communicating with someone in Medellin, and the curosity is killing me. Beside, I just don't wanna live my life and wonder "what if."

DCNUPE/EDDIE, Are you being a naughty boy? Remember curiosity killed (relationships) the cat. Remember that the ladies are mesmerizing.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

Eddie remember this a wise man once told me:"Grasshopper- Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back!"
Go for it Adios Amigo!

I know, I know, I know! I have been debating this for over a month now! I have been totally honest (unlike old me) with Monica (Medellin) about my girl in C/gena. She even knows that when I leave Medellin, I'm going to C/gena. I started communicating with Monica at a low-point in my relationship with my girl in C/gena. Now things are back to normal in C/gena.....I sorta put myself out there! I'm sure somebody out there can relate to this "little" dilemma I got myself into!

But really, I'm doing it for you guys! Not many people post on Medellin, therefore, I am doing my duties as a good and long standing member of "GringoTalk" to provide information to fellow members! Yeah Right!

eddie:

Listen, I'll be a real pal: send me the info on the girl in Medellin, I'll go in your place, then you can work things out with the girl in C'gena. *innocent look*

It's a big sacrifice, but for another gringo, it's the least I can do.

Take great care in Medellin. DO NOT travel at night on the road from the airport to Medellin. You could very well get stopped and then it's GAME OVER. It is safer to either stay at El Torreon in Rio Negro for one night or Las Lomas, which is much more expensive but even closer to the airport (this would be my first choice).

If you're going to Medellin from Miami via Aces, then you're probably going to get in too late for the travel agencies in the airport to be open. There's one that can recommend some excellent English-speaking guides for the area and they know more about what is currently safe than any city girl you'd meet. Actually, the countryside of Antioquia is crawling with you know who so a guide is worth talking to if only to drive you around the city for a half day and give you the current lay-of-the-land.

The Medellin people are very friendly and will be concerned for your safety, especially the women. You are an order of magnitude more appreciated there than the average macho man as the women are starved for basic human kindness and respect in their relationships.

According to this board and some Colombians I've talked to, your two city tour would be safer in Cartagena/Barranquilla rather than Cartagena/Medellin.

That damn Medellin airport is just too far from the city in these dangerous times. Your passport is worth about $10,000-$15,000 on the black market. Your life...priceless.

SCourt:
Thanks a bunch for the information. These are not really tours for me. Although, I have never been to Medellin, I have been to C/gena often. I'm going to Medellin, mainly for one person and her family. I am not too worried about the city of Medellin (I'm not disputing or down-playin' your warnings). I don't look like the average "American" on this board. My friend has me staying at a hotel near her home (when I talk to her today, I will find out more details). We are also going on a trip to the country-side.
When were you last there?

Peace/Cuidate
