I have not posted in a while (last summer). Sorry about that, but I have continued to enjoy reading this board. The trip reports are excellent reading. I also enjoy the many conversations about the latina woman and relationships.
I got married last July 2 in Medellin, but my wife is still in Colombia waiting on her visa.
I filed an I-130 last July 28 after returning from a few weeks in Colombia and Panama -- we went to the decameron resort in Panama for our honeymoon. About 6 months later on Jan 18 USCIS approved her visa. USCIS told me that the approved visa is automatically sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) for additional processing. That was over two months ago and the NVC tells me they have NO RECORD of my wife's visa application. I've formally asked the NVC to investigate the problem. I've also asked my congressional representative to investigate.
Here are my comments on poorbuthappy regarding the visa,

Nothing but congrats FRED!!!!! I must say I am a little confused at why it is taking so long. I have not even met my bride yet, but I hope you get her here soon GOod Luck and best wishessss!!!!! Keep us posted on the process. This forum is dedicated to what you have and what you are going thru, BALA is the man here!!!! He may be able to help, or LOSTAGAIN, he is good at that !!!!
I really like the photo of you and your wife in front of the mirror, looking into the mirror.
Hope you can resolve your immigration issues quickly. You may want to check out www.visajourney.com (if you haven't already) to get some insight from others who have experienced similar situations. Of course, as someone else suggested, immigration attorney Gary Bala (who posts here) specializes in these services.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words of encouragement.
My congressman's office is looking into this for me. I hope that helps with the situation. I've never asked my congressman for any help before, but I suspect these agencies don't like meddlesome politicians so I hope this doesn't interfere with getting the visa.
Also thanks regarding the photos. My wife Adriana also likes the photo of us looking into the mirror. I know it looks like I put all my photos on the blogspot photo blog, but I actually have lots of photos (way too many actually ... lots of Medellín and the surrounding area like Santa Fe de Antioquia, some of Bogotá, Santa Marta, Cartagena, San Andrés, Panamá, and Buenos Aires, Argentina).
