I copied this post from "Medellin Plan" thread. Yes I am very biased, but ask Griz, LL and read JayD's post from "Medellin Plan" thread. The change is real and %100 better is a gross understatement.

I have lived here in Medellin less than a year, I have not heard one word about gringos having problems. I walk all over this city just about everyday, I don't even get looks let alone being hassled. And I wear SHORTS, I do not look like anything but a gringo. Medellin has come a VERY long ways in a relative short period of time, these people are moving around and going out places more and more. These are basically happy people enjoying some real peace for the first time in almost TWO full generations, I do not think that they want to regress. Yes anything can happen in any big city in the world, I believe that your are as safe in Med as any city in the world. Sure, walk into the wrong barrio, at the wrong time and you might have problems. All of that said, I have a word for stories/rumors like this one, the word is BULL****!
