I think the real question to ask is if there are any Gringo's that
own successful business in Colombia. From what I have read here.....
your odds of success are not all that good... unless ofcourse you
are fluent in Spanish and know the culture VERY VERY well.

Green5 -

Check the archives because I remember one Colombian lawyer that has an office in Parque 93 but I can't recall his name.

Green5,

I can give you the name and number of a good "honest" lawyer in Bogota in about three days when I return home. In the past I have recommended his office to several people for things such as divorces, business matters, custody problems etc.

I have an agreement with him, anyone I send to him will pay the usual Colombian price, NOT the gringo price, and he honors our agreement.

LL,

The lawyers name is Dr. Faustino Pena, his office number is: 341-2997, Cell: 312-387-9684.

Tell him I referred you, he guaranteed me no one will pay a gringo price, and so far no one has.

Faustino has also been doing work for me for several years for contracts, property etc. He's always been fair and honest.

For others that I've referred him to, he has handled divorces, Colombian immigration problems, custody problems and has over seen some property purchases.

He does speak some English and has lived in NY for a while.

LL,

Something else you might want to consider if your buying property, Century 21 is now in Colombia. (www.century21colombia.com) They use the same business principals as you would receive in the U.S.A. Canada etc. but definitely not the same level of service, but probably the best you can find and everything is legit. (as best it can be here)
