Hello my fellow american brothers,

Just a note to the Cali-bound gringos out there. Be careful! Why?
A reliable source of mine in Cali tells me a BOMB IN A CAR parked at
the front entrance to the Inter-continental Hotel in Cali(a very nice
5-star) was found last week. It did not explode however. I myself have
stayed at this hotel and now I have goose bumps. My source also tells
me this bomb had the exact same power to the Oklahoma Federal building
bomb. It is believed FARC planted it. As Father Lopez would
say,,,,,Be careful my sons,,,,,

Pray for Colombia.

Ray makes a good point. Unfortunately, there is very little a person could do to be "careful" in this situation, or in many situations for that matter.

It is better to look at this from an "odds" approach. The odds of being present for a random event are infinitesimal. As an example, even though many people were present and killed in Oklahoma City, any one person's chances of being involved in this attack was one in millions from a mathematical standpoint. You would have a better chance of winning the lottery than in being in that building and at the time of explosion.

What you can do however is simply reduce your chances of random events happening in most cases. In other words, by following the old rules of not running around the countryside and not being in the bad part of town late at night, you will be lessoning the chances (odds) of random events happening to you.

Cali is no worse than downtown Detroit or Miami at night, and with proper care, it is probably no worse than Mayberry, USA from an odds standpoint!!

I know that for myself, I feel completely safe in Bogota--and actually, there is a better chance of getting hit by a passing car than from any nefarious activities--and those of you who have been there know exactly what I'm talking about-- ya just don't cross streets without using your eyes and ears like we tend to up here!!

I talked to my female friend who is from Cali and now lives in Chicago. She has talked to relatives who still live in Cali. She has confirmed the bomb thing at the Inter-Cont. Hotel. She did not know the size although a giant truck-load of explosives seems unlikely.

Bless you my sons, bless you. I copied this from my post in another thread. Time for my evening vespers. Ta Ta.

Bless you all.

See http://www.elpais-cali.com/HOY/periodico/PRI/

The car contained 80 kilos of high grade explosive. My scouts at DAS tell me there was probably enough high grade explosive to level the Inter.

To Father Timothy,

What does DAS mean? You have scouts in Cali? Very interesting. You must be an important "Father of the state" in Colombia to have such important connections. I appreciate your input her on the Gringo Board and keep up the good work in Colombia. Oh,,,, and Father please prey for me. God bless my brothers here.

One of the Fathers' sons,
Ray-
