Unhappy

"Longoria Takes Fall on 'Housewives' Set"

"LOS ANGELES - Who knew being a "Desperate Housewife" could be so dangerous? Eva Longoria, who plays saucy Gabrielle Solis on the ABC dramedy, was taken to the hospital after being injured on the set.

"Eva slipped on one of the stairs coming out of her trailer," her publicist, Liza Anderson, said Thursday. "Nothing is broken, but her ribs are very bruised."

The 31-year-old actress will not require any time off for the injury.

It was not the first time Longoria needed to be taken to the hospital from a 'Housewives' set. In August 2005 she was hit in the head by a piece of equipment and needed emergency attention. Then, too, she didn't miss any work."

...just goes to show you, you just never know what's going to happen next!!

Now that I have your collective attention

Get off your collective asses boy's, and get on with it...Lima, Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Santiago, Barranquilla...whatever is your pleasure.

I just found out today that a good friend of mine passed over the weekend...42 years old, family, kids...went to the hospital thinking he had an ulcer that was bleeding, and it ended up being pancreatic cancer. 23 days from diagnosis until they shut the monitor off!!! He never left the hospital.....

What was it that you were going to do...? Then it's time to just DO IT!

That's the thing LL...I AM doing it.

Remember, I lived there for a while...yes, I know, and remember the female part of the equation. I get it, but I'm also not afraid of being without it.

Captian,

I am very sorry to hear this news and it makes me sad that a man with children goes on so soon in life, you recall that I had a very close friend of mine die in January of 2005 and it sparked me to do what I have been doing.

Maybe it is true I have let the pendelum swing too wide at times looking for my balance and moderation in life, but I always remember my friends death and think who am I kidding, I don't have tomorrow to do what I want to do, I only have today.

This is not an excuse for what some of you may think is unnecessary or rude behaviour, but it is part of the motivation for "just doing it". Time seems to accellerate as you get older, there seems to be a sense of urgency that sets in.

May your friend rest in peace, and may his family find closure with his passing.

Cool

Thanks guys...he will be missed, of that there is no doubt.

The one thing that he did say in our last conversation, was that he had no regrets. He had spent the better part of his younger years chasing a dream, and had spent many years together with me plying the waters of Antarctica, and traveling...and of course chasing girls, smoking Monte's dipped in Gran Marnier, and recording many a photograph in his mind. Some pictures in life, you just can't put on paper, or film. You just have to live them.

His family was his latest pride and joy, and I'm sure there will be no easy replacement for them, if any.

Remember, when it's all said and done, no one will remember how much money you've spent, how many buildings you've built, or any of the other intangibles in life...They will...however...always measure the man by the way he lived his life, and the impression he left on people as a person...Love like it's the last love you'll ever have, live like it's the last day that you have left, and treat everyone you come across in this path called life in the same manner that you'd expect back.

Life really is too short...

Just my humble two pence this morning...
