Let's see, 44+ million people in Colombia about 1/2 of them women (unless you believe the 8-1 ration thing) and you want to see one who's still married that you havn't even met yet?

We need to talk...

Amigo,

From my own past experiences, it really doesn't matter if the ex has an 18 year old girlfriend or even two 18 year old girlfriends living with him, once he finds out that a gringo is seeing his ex, he will most likely threaten her directly or indirectly , which means that you are in his sight as well.

I have been in that situation in the past, and my advice is to find a woman that does not have this dangerous baggage to contend with.

Many Latinos have a possessive mind set when it comes to their women. They could care less about them, kick them out the door, be messing around with other women at the same time, but when the one they have just dumped becomes involved with a gringo, it changes everything.

Be careful.

That is a wise advice SEDONA; C640 can you tell me how did you manage to find a woman not divorced yet?? Look my man, if you love to ''play'' and get excited go for it!!! I won't bother that much in that case BUT that is just me ....
Even if she tells you or he tells her it is fine with him to know that she has a gringo boyfriend I would not bother because what people say it's not always what it is in reality!!! CUIDADO!

Its most definitely a risk C640... my take is this man (the husband) is still going to feel that she is his lady, even if they are separated... be careful bro... and depending upon where she lives (city or pueblo) and the fact that you are a Gringo can make matters that much more of a risk …

Hard to believe. But I do indeed believe it.

What about the girl that was slashed to death after appearing on a Spanish 'Gerry Springer' type of show.

She showed up and they brought on the guy she dumped about a year before for physically abusing her. He proposed to here on their national television and she just sat there in shock. The footage is impossible to believe. Because she did not say yes on television, I have to believe that he felt justified in killing her because it was a matter of 'HONOR'.

Five days later she was dead.

HONOR???? I think it is more stupidity and non-sense !!!!!
What kind of honor a MAN can have by killing his ex, an elder person, a baby or simply a human being???? None!!! I say that based on that story though

I think it is the same here in the US. It isn't honor but a desire not to be disrespected. The fool thinks he was disrected and therefor has the right to kill her. Unfortuantely, he is too stupid to realize he disrespected her long before that.

How many killings do we see in the US because someone dissed someone else and they will lose cred. if they don't start shooting. It is sad that most never realize there is a difference between fear and respect.

Kidnapping for ransom is nothing new in Colombia, and less now than in the past, but this Americano angle scares me! I hope it is not a sign of things to come.

Sedona, How true, I witnessed the following; My Colombian Ex Brother In Law dumped his wife and two kids for his Secretary, But was en raged when the ex wife started dating again a few years later. Go figure?

Sedona,

Very true! One other aspect that we have discussed in the past is that many times when you date a Colombian woman with a child(ren) the ex Colombiano bows out from paying child support because the Gringo can afford to support her (and their kids) now.
