Question

Hey, has anyone ever had their passport, traveler checks stolen in Cali?

How would you go about getting a replacement passport to return to the USA? (i.e. to you have to go to Bogota or can you do it in Cali?) Does it take forever to get a replacement?

Also, does American Express issue replacement checks fairly quick while you're still in Colombia? Or do you have to return to the USA to get your $$$ back?

A friend is writing me from Cali now.

Thanks for the help, hermanos.

Thumbs up

Go to this URL:

This is a page from the website of the U.S. Embassy in Bogota. On this page, you will find information on replacing lost or stolen passports. As far as proof of citizenship goes, I would have someone from the U.S. fax the birth certificate to Colombia.

Hope this helps,

chao

You must go to the American embassy in Bogota. Be prepared to wait or come back the next day to pick up your new temporary passport.
