I just took the JB flight from Bogota to JFK through Orlando. Good plane, free movies, no dinner but snacks and drinks. Comfortable seats and the tail didn't snap off the Airbus so all in all pretty good.

Ya, jetblue is about the best deal around right now. I think it is a new route they added out of Orlando to Bogota and some great deals to be had. I payed 72 bucks with tax to come in May. But summer time fares are a lot higher. If you are not planning to come until fall check out the great prices. Found one for 100 bucks in September coming up. Just keep your eyes open on the website and you will see the good fares come at different times. Good luck and enjoy those rates while they last.

Don, Up until recently, there was no directly service from Orlando to Bogota. JetBlue finally got the rights to the route and after screwing around a little bit trying to delay....they finally got it going. Since I'm married to a Colombiana from Bogota, this was a God-send.....as opposed to connecting through Miami or (to get a better deal) having to drive to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

JetBlue is a pretty good airline so that, in itself, makes it a good choice. The direct flight just makes it so much better. Spirit is fine for what it is - a cheap airline. You can get a real good deal, especially if you are flexible. But there are a lot of negatives (pay to check any bags, for example).....especially if you have to leave out of Ft. Lauderdale....what a miserable mess....from check-in to security check-point. Ugh.

If Jet Blue doesn't work for you, other options that I've used are AA Orlando to Bogota with connection in Miami or Copa Orlando to Bogota with connection in Panama.

Good luck!

I fly JetBlue in the states and really like the airline.
Have not had any trouble to speak of. Now flying in the states and out of the states is different I know. But state side they are very good!

The two newest airlines in the US/Colombia market with the lowest cost carriers. JetBlue (from Orlando) and Spirit (from Ft. Lauderdale). For a mid-September round-trip flight including taxes and fees, JetBlue had fares from Orlando for $268. Though Spirit offers lower fares for members of its $9 fare club, the cost of a regular fare from Ft. Lauderdale was $348.
