Default Baq. Trip Part 1

One of the cities that I have not visited was Barranquilla. I was planning a trip there over the Thanksgiving break but my plans got changed by urgent matters at work. Needless to say, I was peeved by this and my angered intensified when I realized I could have done the work remotely via the internet.

I was thinking that I had been robbed of this opportunity, and I logged into the airline website and found that I could fly into Bogota if I redeemed 35,000 miles. I could catch a plane to Barranquilla for about $250.00. I said what the heck. I only had 4 days, but this would be exploratory visit for future trips. I took the plunge.

I called Jamie at latin-wife, but he told me that he does not do last minute introductions and needed more time for me to submit photos and information. I told him I understood.

I decided to spend one night in Bogota and catch an early flight to Barranquilla. I arrived in Bogota and decided to try a disco a friend had told be about in the area called Zona North or Rosa (I don’t remembered). I could have called an old girlfriend but wanted to try my luck. In the disco, well it was not really a disco but a restaurant that played music, was something that you don’t often see out in Colombia which was two or three groups of single ladies. This was a classy place and I took a seat at the bar near a group of very lovely ladies. I ordered a drink and of course my broken Spanish caught the attention of everyone at the bar and one of ladies next to me asked me where I was from. That began the conversation and I took it from there. I am good at using my lack of Spanish speaking skills as an advantage and conversation starter. Anyway, I had a great conversation with the ladies and we danced or should I say I had them teach me how to salsa! It was fun and they got a kick out of watching me suffer on the dance floor.

I had a wonderful time with the ladies and I could sense one was interested in me. I asked her if she had to go to work tomorrow and she said not until later in the afternoon, so I asked her if she would like to come to my hotel room for some drinks. She said she would only if her friend would come with her. Her friend said yes and I said to myself (I am not getting lucky—or maybe super lucky tonight) They said they had to make a quick stop but they would be over shortly. I gave them the card for the hotel I was staying at

It is the best place to enjoy your vacations. It is the most important commercial city of the Caribbean since it is the main maritime port in the country. It is a large, complex city. There are many shopping centers with national and international brands.

It is the wonderful place with lots of famous attractions. There are also different events and festivals take place in the city. They reflect the cultural tradition of the country. It is an ideal tourist destination apart from being an industrial city.
