Cool

I just came back from a very successful trip to Bogota. I stayed for a week at Latin American Introductions/Charlie's Place. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for that special someone. If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to ask. I have a lot of work to get caught up on but plan on posting my views on my trip in a few days...

Hey Mark,

I will be staying I think at Charlie's place while I teach >English to the ladies at LAI.

Do the TVs in the rooms have English channels? Did you have internet access included with your room? Or was internet access available for a fee there or nearby?

As you checked out the books of the ladies were there many in the 37 and older group that you recall?

I plan to arrive in Bogota Jan. 15 for an indefinte stay. I hope a year.

Any other tips are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sid

Good luck Sid. Sounds like a great experience. My wife would love it if I got a job in Cali and I'd consider it for one year so I'd be anxious to hear about your experiences.

Bring a lot of sweaters.

Peace,

Jim

Thumbs up

Hey Sid,
I think you should have no trouble at all if you stay at Charlie's Place. There is free internet access for all who stay at the hotel and I had no trouble at all getting online to check messages, send mail, etc...
As far as the cable stations I seem to recall about 30 stations were available with 3-4 in English and maybe 1-2 with English or Spanish subtitles. I did not watch too much television but did tune in to CNN worldwide, BBC, and the FOX network all in English. During my stay I was mainly searching for someone in the 27-35 age range (I am 40). I would guess that about 25-30% of the ladies were above 35. Charlie's Place is located in the Northern part of town which is safe. There are two malls which are within walking distance. I was impressed with the ladies that I was meeting during my stay and truly believe this is a quality operation. I will be returning to Bogota soon and look forward to meeting you when you are there!
