Cartagena trip report

This was my fourth trip to Cartagena, and fifth overall to Colombia. Is there some kind of club for guys who have gone to Colombia at least 5 times? Maybe we should call it the Crazy Fools Club.

Never buy anything on the street from a vendor. I did that for the first time during this visit to Cartagena, and it was a big mistake. As soon as I started to reach for my money, I was accosted by 5 other vendors, and 2 beggars.

The exchange rate at the cambio at the airport was 2,080 pesos to the dollar.

I paid 66,000 pesos for the departure tax.

I met the famous (or is it "infamous"?) Timinbend. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his stories and adventures.

The Hilton Hotel in Cartagena was running some of kind of timeshare deal. I went to the presentation. It is no big deal.

I took Avianca flight # 004 from Cartagena to Miami. This flight originated in Medellin. There was a lot of very attractive Colombian ladies on board. One looked like she was a model.

I stayed at the Hotel Capilla Del Mar - $80 per night, including a breakfast buffet. I won't stay there again though. Too many street vendors waiting outside.
