"The foundation and lasting element of every great relationship is communication"

ENCUENTROS - Spanish Immersion School, Cuernavaca, Mexico

Encuentros Spanish Immersion School is perhaps the best-kept secret in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Cuernavaca is located about 50 miles from Mexico City and is known for its spring-like weather all year round. I attended the school during the week of October 22, 2001, after my plans to visit Bogota fell through at the last moment.
The cost per week of school was $150.00 and is the best money I’ve ever spent. There is also a one-time registration fee of $75.00. I stayed with a Mexican family and paid $25 per day for a private room and bath and that included three meals a day. Shared rooms are $15.00 per day. Other accommodations are also available. Cost to fly from Virginia to Mexico City was about $240.00 including tax.
School days consisted of three-hour morning sessions devoted to sentence construction, verb conjugation and general, everyday Spanish conversation, and two, one-hour afternoon sessions comprised of pronunciation and conversation, and Survival Spanish which teaches quick and easy verb and noun combinations to help you communicate effectively in everyday situations. School lets out in time to participate in la comida, the big afternoon meal.
The teachers were extraordinary. They intuitively seemed to know where I needed to apply my time and concentration and were very receptive and flexible to teaching me Spanish for future situations I knew I would face (like meeting that special someone in Columbia).
Also, there were many additional opportunities to practice my learned Spanish in Cuernavaca and the surrounding areas. There is the central square where citizens gather to eat, dance and socialize. There are numerous markets and stores that sell Mexican goods at deeply discounted prices. There are also pyramids left by the ancients that are fun to explore.
I am very comfortable giving this testimony about Encuentros: you will find it a terrific deal, learn more Spanish than you thought possible and you will have done something educational for yourself that will have a positive influence on your social life and career.
When you are ready to visit Encuentros, please contact Jeannie Andersen at encuentros@learnspanishinmexico.com or www.learnspanishinmexico.com/ or telephone her at: (011 52 7) 3 12 50 88
Please mention my name as your reference. Thank you.
