Default Introducing Mr. TBot!!!

This information should be a sticky!

I was chatting with a caleņa the other day and she told me about a new translation program for Messenger. Man, was I ever impressed with this nifty software program that allows you to type in your native tongue and it gets automatically translated into a chosen destination language (in this case, Spanish). Anyone that likes communicating with people in another language when you are not able to communicate effectively in their language should give this a try. Gone are the days of using sites like www.freetranslation.com where you have to write something, translated it, copy, then paste it into Messenger. Just type away in your native language, hit the send button and viola! instant translation. It's not a perfect translation (like other online translators) but easily understood by the recipient.

For you Mac users, TBot works great using the Adium messenger program.

Well I am going to say this and take it with a grain of salt, translations are not perfect, and if not careful can get your ass in a world of $hit.....

That is when you can blame it on the translator.....

It is a bit time consuming and frustrating trying to jump a language barrier at times....

Pretty soon they will have a computer chip to put into your mouth and you will be able to talk english, but is will translate into spanish for you.

We wont have to learn anything else in our lives...

Great program, but I think you will learn more doing the footwork..

I was doing relatively fine chatting with her in her native tongue, or at least I thought so. Perhaps she took pity on me and introduced me to that messenger translation program.

I was posting it for all the future students of Spanish that would like to use a method to communicate both ways while talking in Messenger. I think it will assist not only in better comprehension while chatting with your enamorada but should help you along with your Spanish, just don't rely on it as gospel because of errors but both parties knowing the gist of the conversation could be very helpful for the newbies.

Speaking of chips, they already have them but not for translation and they are surprisingly small. My advice would be to make a wide birth getting one of those little "beasts" injected into your hand or forehead!

This is a hoot .... sad, because it is TRUE ..... but a hoot!!!! By the time you read through this YOU WILL UNDERSTAND.

In order to continue getting-by in America (our home land), we all need to learn the NEW English language! Practice by reading the following conversation until you are able to understand the term "TENJOOBERRYMUDS".

With a little patience, you'll be able to fit right in.
Now, here goes...

The following is a telephone exchange between maybe you as a hotel guest and call room-service somewhere in the good old U S A today......

Room Service : "Morrin. Roon sirbees."

Guest : "Sorry, I thought I dialed room-service."

Room Service: " Rye . Roon sirbees...morrin! Joowish to oddor sunteen???"

Guest: "Uh..... Yes, I'd like to order bacon and eggs.."

Room Service: "Ow July den?"

Guest: ".....What??"

Room Service: "Ow July den?!?... pryed, boyud, poochd?"

Guest: "Oh, the eggs! How do I like them? Sorry.. scrambled, please."

Room Service: "Ow July dee baykem? Crease?"

Guest: "Crisp will be fine."

Room Service: "Hokay. An Sahn toes?"

Guest: "What?"

Room Service: "An toes. July Sahn toes?"

Guest: "I... don't think so."

RoomService: "No? Judo wan sahn toes???"

Guest: "I feel really bad about this, but I don't know what 'judo wan sahn toes' means."

RoomService: "Toes! Toes!...Why Joo don Juan toes? Ow bow Anglish moppin we bodder?"

Guest: "Oh, English muffin!!! I've got it! You were saying 'toast'... Fine...Yes, an English muffin will be fine."

RoomService: "We bodder?"

Guest: "No, just put the bodder on the side."

RoomService: "Wad?!?"

Guest: "I mean butter... just put the butter on the side."

RoomService: "Copy?"

Guest: "Excuse me?"

RoomService: "Copy...tea..meel?"

Guest: "Yes. Coffee, please... and that's everything."

RoomService: "One Minnie. Scramah egg, crease baykem, Anglish moppin, we bodder on sigh and copy .... rye??"

Guest: "Whatever you say."

RoomService: "Tenjooberrymuds."
