I thought some of you fellow Gringos may be interested in learning Spanish in Cali. Check this out www.puj.edu.co/fhumanidades/efe/ . I emailed them asking if they have shorter, 2 weeks intensive programs . Johny

Jonny, I think this is a branch of the same program that exists in Bogota. Do you have a link to the Bogota Javeriana site?

Bill, go to www.javeriana.edu.co/Facultades/comunication_lenguaje/menu.htl . I couldn`t find anything specific on Spanish for foreigners program , however the communication and languages dept. secretary may help you . Their address is obedoya@javeriana.edu.co , in Bogota ph # :320 8320 ext 4578 . Also, these are email adresses of english language professors at the university : cvargas@javeriana.edu.co and mpeterso@javeriana.edu.co ; they may help you find "twenty something"....hopely female ! He, he, he !! . But, on the serious note, I would imagine they pretty much know what`s "cooking" in languages department or have some suggestions . Johny

Question

Johny,

Are you planning to stop by and check out this program on your trip? Or the Centro Cultural?

Wink Happy I found this site...

People here seem to help one another, not 75 replies to a post from gringos selling real estate or representing rental and land sale sale outfits, like one of the 'ex pat forums' I already belong to.

I am a long term ex pat who is mobile, just in case, do not own land, nor vehicle any more, don't owe anyone any money, own a laptop, TV, books, clothes, misc. and an old bed I can throw away or give away if I decide to move.

Those of you relocating and interesting in investing and purchasing land et al best travel to your target country or region for at least a month, take some Spanish classes and make contacts, contacts, contacts, who you know, not 'what you know' in Latin America!!

To those of you who are US Vets.......

Not luck, my friend. Research.
I am a true believer in what I learned in the Army about the "6 P's"

The 6 P's are

Prior Planning Prevent Piss Poor Performance.

I did much research before I decided to live in this area I reside in now.
