Default translation check

I have been corresponding with a nice girl from Cartagena for about two months now, and lately she refers to me as "mi querido pensador". I have that translated as "my dear thinker". Is that accurate, or am I a little bit off?

Post Re: translation check

Yeap! That's a good translation Sly.

LastLion may have a point as "querido" (the same in both Spanish and Portuguese) doesn't map absolutely, precisely, exactly, to "dear". It may depend on context (as always). But I would guess in a "cariñoso" mood it would mean "my dear thinker" (a rare word-for-word translation).

The girl finds you a bit of a philosopher and wants to compliment you in a affectionate way.

Thanks for helping me see the subtleties involved. Yeah, she's really nice.

"AW, there not as sweet as CW."
