Thanks Jibster, I thought it was something like that. But wasn't sure. Another great thing about guys like you, who are married. It kinda like we have an insiders trade secret!

I had the same thing happen after about a year and a half in Brazil and trying to get rid of some Spanish-sounding speech habits. Lots of good feedback from adults. Then, one night at a party, a little girl busted up laughing and asked her mom, "Does he always talk like that?" A real ego-booster, and incentive to keep working on my accent.

I had to look it up in my dictionary.

Juicioso/sa = judicious, wise

Well, since I never recall a latina using that word with me, they must think I'm an unwise lazyass

Juiciso/a means staying out of trouble. On the straight and narrow, or no nonsense. Example: Esa joven es muy juiciosa, ella no le trae problemas a nadie = that woman is righteous, she doesn't like to cause problems for anyone. [referring to her character].

If any Latin person asks you if you are juicioso, take it as a compliment, they want to know about your [good] character...otherwise they might think you are some two bit Malandro...and that is not a good thing.
