Griz -

As ALWAYS great hearing from you and your updating us with the family. Being, yesterday the three mark for your wife and daughters' arrival, and the two year mark of Dora making a mistake and getting married to me.
The continued best for you, Wifista and daughter. It is very nice to see that in practical application, things do not just 'happen', you all do your parts to 'make' it happen. Griz, you and your entire family have my total and undying respect. Thank you for staying with us and sharing a slice of reality.

Love - Micky

We were talking last night....and my wife tells me that in the class the teacher is required to tell the immigrants about the divorce laws in the U.S. - they talk about the probability of divorce, their rights, etc. I can't believe that this is part of English class....and that they must cover it every semester. Interesting.

Griz that part, I don't know, but it shakes me, I don't know why, in an English class?
But congrats on your new life together....

Thanks a lot, guys. I need to review the book my wife uses in her English class. I wonder what other topics they discuss?! Micky, congratulations to you and Dora. That's great. I've scanned some other posts....did I correctly get the impression that you all are moving...to Barranquilla? Or am I missing something? Hope to meet you someday if my wife ever lets me step foot in Medellin!

I was born and raised in Florida and have lived here most of my life (central Florida, east coast). Florida makes a lot of sense if you are married to a Latina - food, culture, language. My wife feels somewhat at home. She can easily get Latin food, she meets people that speak her language, we can find a Colombian restaurant, etc. It's been easier for her to adopt to this country living here, I think. The Miami area might be too much of an immersion...she might not have any incentive to learn English (if she already doesn't speak it) and to acculturate. But central Florida and Tampa have plenty of Hispanics....yet it's not like South Florida. The weather and flight access to South and Central America are also plusses for Florida. It's worked great for me.

Glad to see that this board is back up and running....although it sounds as if it's moving away from the reason I came here. I'll still be around to try to help guys that are looking to go to Colombia to find a mate or how are bringing a Latina back to the U.S.

Off on our "second honeymoon" to Curacao and Bonaire on Sunday. Mailed my wife's citizenship application on Wednesday, so looking forward to the day she receives citizenship and can travel on a U.S. passport. Married life is still good. I got lucky!

Griz,

Great hearing from you! And thanks for the update on the marriage.

Curacao is one of my absolute favorite islands in El Carribb. Was there just last year with my daughters and we enjoyed ourselves as usual. Good Choice and have fun!
