Yep, I believe that was it. I thought it was so pleasant and quiet up there. And B/manga proper isn't bad either. Typically Colombian, but on a smaller scale than Cali.

I Am In Canada Right Now And Will Not Be Back In Colombia Until October. Pereira Is The Best Climate Wise. Not Spent Much Time In Armenia But It Could Be Alright But Manizales Is To Cold. If I Want Cold I Could Winter Here In Victoria.
This Is The First Time I Have Participated In A Form Like This. If Anyone Doesn't Like My Uppercase Writing I Apologise. I Am A Lazy Typist And All Lowercase Just Looks Stupid. Please Bare With Me.

Colombia Green welcome to the board.

Would be interested in your comments having lived in Pereira and moving from Ecuador. Could you give us a little comparison?

Is it possible and safe to get from Bogota to Bucaramanga or do you have to fly in order to avoid hostile territory?

I met many people who drove that course. It has opened up quite a bit, I would still stick to daytime driving!!!!

I want to hear more about Bucaramanga. I'll be visiting my chica in Buca in February. I'm glad to hear it's not a dump. What is there to do in Buca? Where are the hot spots?

Thanks.

What type of hotspots are you looking for? I am sure your chica will know?

Buca is the most organized and defintely the safest city I ever visited in colombia and I have been to a lot.

I hung out in sotomayor and cabacera, cabacera is the zona rosa of buca.. Lots of restaraunts. The great thing about buca, is it is close to some cool stuff. Adventure sports , mesa de los santos is great on a weekend day, chicamocha, Giron is cool, watch out for the gypsies who want to read you palm and take your wallet at the same time.. A couple of shots for ya..

Check with Islander. He has taken the bus from Bogota a couple of times and may be on his way there from Medellin right now. Never a problem from what he said.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm visiting my novea in Buca March 3-8 and I can't wait to see her again. We already have plans to go paragliding in Chicomocha and possibly river rafting. I definitely want to go to the top of Mesa de los Santos. My novea also mentioned that she likes "hormigas culonas". I understand that these are big butt ants. She said they taste like popcorn. Did you try eating one?

Thanks LB, first of all if you ever try popcorn in colombia, you'll know it aint the same. Crunchy & Sticky just like Hormigas Culones. Not bad tasting, kind of like that gum , you remember, the one that once you bite into it, it bursts in your mouth.

mmmm yummy, they sell them on the street, all over buca, I would say give it a crunch and find out for yourself.

mm deliciousa!!!!!
