Razial,
would you describe San Andres like an inexpensive Key West? I love the laid back atmospere there, but hate the high blood pressure causing prices.

God forbid. San Andres is like no other place I have ever lived or visited. I have worked lived and traveled to more then 40 countries. This is a Carib Island like it was 50 years ago. Most people only see the North end with its High price Hotels and tourist traps. The people you meet as a tourist are those who are looking for your money. Two week vacation here is not enough time to get to know this Island and its original people. There are two very different cultures here. I live on less then 1000.00 month US

Thanks Razial. It has been on my list of places to check out for a while now. I may move it up to visit within the end of next year now.

I can tell you that your gf will not have any trouble pointing out when you have made a fashion mistake. She will make it clear and in general when in Rome...

After years (I'm 50) of having my mother chastise me for not tucking my shirt in, it was something of an odd feeling to have my gf tell me I needed to not tuck it in, that my shirts should almost always be out of my pants.

Showering twice a day, also a very good idea.

AeroRepública lost my bags on 6-6-06, which resulted in me wearing shorts and hawaiin shirt down an dark Cali alley. Colombian street fighting championsips began out when a nigerian jumped me from behind off the handlebars of a bike. I won by TKO, but the initial bodyslam to concrete put me on crutches for 3 months. The infection from scraped knees had me sick in bed for 2 days. For self-defense, I will never wear shorts above the knees in a public place.
