How do you mean, you want to visit Chile? You're already in Costa Rica right? It's not too far from where you're at, probably not too expensive for a plane ticket. Anyway here are more pic's.

El Morro - Arica

Playa Chinchorro - looking towards Peru, 1 hour away.

So anyway, my first day in Chile I have a bit of a hangover from the night before with the German girls. But I'm up and out early to see what I can see. I go to the Plaza de Armas.

Street performer near Plaza de Armas

I've been walking around for a couple of hours and I'm tired so I sit down on one of the benches that are on the edge of the plaza. I'm just people watching, looking at the women. It was around lunchtime so the there were a lot of people out and about. When all of a sudden this girl walks across part of the plaza near the rotunda, I can see she's looking for a place to sit. I can't stop looking at her because she's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen - and she is sitting down next to me! My first thought is " oh no! I don't know enough Spanish!" I can see she wants me to talk to her, I guess I stick out a bit with my 'gringo-ness'. She's about 28 years old, light brown blondish shoulder length hair and she has these amazing green eyes! I'm a bit taken aback, I knew sooner or later in Chile that I would find a woman that I really wanted to have a relationship with. Just not so soon! My first day in the country? WTF? Wait, I'm not ready! Finally I try to talk to her. Her name is Teresa and I'm madly in love. I plow onward and realize I'm making an idiot of myself with my bad Spanish and nervousness. She's wearing a pants-suit type of uniform, I ask her if she's a stewardess. DUMB! A couple days later I find out they wear uniforms like that in banks or other offices. She's very patient and seems to be into talking to me but I'm just killing myself with how badly I think it's going. Dumb gringo. Anyway, long story short I'm too flustered. I stand up wish her a good day and walk away. Silly me, I didn't even get her phone number. I met other women in Chile but she was the one that got away. A '10' for sure. Moral of the story - learn Spanish. You may meet teh chica of your dreams on day one.

Cold, cold water! They wear wet suits usually. There is a surfing competition in Arica every year.

Just an old Canon a70, I think. I got it in 2004. Only 2.1 mega pixels. I got a newer Canon camera too but the pic's come out too 'digital' looking, so I use the old one.
