Default Haiti news

Man, I am really hit by this tragedy having lived thru som earthquakes and knowing how up here in san francisco we build to handle these quakes, but after hearing that 30,000.00- 100,000 people are thought to be dead, just irks me like no other.

HERE is a video of the quake in process, you can see the normal daily life than watch as these buildings all just crumble, huge tragedy!

The frequency of natural disasters over the last few years is almost enough to make me buy into this "end of the world" thing.

Whatever you do don't donate. Scams galore right now going around. Better yet, go to another country SOTB and donate yourself, your time. Then you will know exactly where your money is going. All these do-gooders like Ralphs and Publix Supermarkets. How we know for sure our money really goes direct to Haiti?

DUDE c''mun.. Of course dont give your $$$$ to the rasta man downtown saying he is collecting for haiti, but there are already plenty of legit place to send money.

The red cross for one, you can even text a mild $10.00 to the red cross.
There is also Doctors without borders google them and google safe dontations to haiti and you will find plenty of them'

Personally I am holding off on all the donations until everything settles down. It is a mess down there if you are to believe the papers with no direction and leadership. So why send money when it will not even go to what it is supposed to go to. Once a leader of this effort is decided and things start flowing again than I will send. Also maybe it is just me but has anyone noticed that the whole world spits in the USA's face and backstabs us every chance they get but the second there is a disaster they come running back with there hands out. I am not saying haiti but it is someting I have noticed.

Ok I know I am going to piss some of you off with my comments......

Hatti has had independance for some 200 years, and never done anything with it other living under a "Me da Boss" regimes and living in squalor in the towns....

Much like places in Africa....

Once the richest per capita population in the Caribbean, a huge Island rich with natural resources and arable farm land, now for generations gone to waste.....

It is true, they need help now because of the earthquake......

But after that I am sorry.....

It is throwing good money after bad......

They are scattering now into the country sides, Good, looking for food and shelter, which is what they should have been doing for generations instead of looking for a hand out......

Sorry but that is how it is......
