Short Report
------------

I arrived in Santo Domingo late June and spent one week there, then 3 days in Boca Chica, then one week in Santiago with one day in Puerto Plata. In SD I recommend Hotel Palacio and is centrally located, reasonable priced and close to good nightlife, etc. The DR is hot and humid but the nights are cool. I saw many very attractive ladies walking the streets, working the shops and they seem sincere and nice.

SD has cliffs so I headed to BC. This beach may be the most beautiful I have seen yet. Clear blue water and very clean. Some Euro guys, mostly Italians have little food shacks on the beach and the food is good. I recommend the Costalunga Residential Club: http://costalunga.net/. Though during check out they over charged me on some bogus charges. Overall, it was ok. I paid $35US per night. The nights in BC are very nice with good places to eat, drink and be merry. The next stop was Santiago, so off I went on a bus, about 5 hours. I stayed at the Hotel Platino(Av. Estrella Sadhela, Plaza Platinum Ph. 809-724-7576 or email at hotelplatino@verizon.net.dr. Great hotel and reasonable priced, quiet, nice people and close to everything. Santiago is the best city in the DR with lots a nice, beautiful women and close to the north shore beaches. I lucked out and got a personal tour of the ciger factory owned by Arturo Fuente cigars by Mr. Fuente himself. One excellent gym is Golds Gym, Centro Plaza International, Av. Juan Pablo Duerte, ph. 241-9091. Puerta Plata was a one day venture, about 2 hours north with the beach being excellent, like BC. Overall I would advise gringos to check out the DR. No agencies, but that's not a problem either, however the women are on the darker side, mostly mulattas. All the hotels listed in this report including Golds Gym has verbally agreed to give Gringotalk members discounts of 10-15% off.

Ray,

The DR does have a few agencies. I can't recall all of them at the moment but here are a few links to the various agencies:

I have dated one here from the DR. Very dark skinned, I liked it. She was far and above the hottest woman Tonk has ever dated bar none. Don't know if it's in any way typical of the DR women.

Tinto, I already know about the agencies you listed. I contacted each one before my trip and none, NONE of them responded to my emails.

Tonk, I saw a at least a handful of really spectacular looking ladies in Santiago and Santo Domingo. These women are down to earth, personable and they enjoy meeting Americans. The DR is cheap and under three hours from Miami with an abundance of nice, sincere women. I recommend the DR as a change in your routine of traveling to Colombia. Like Colombia, if you speak good spanish and have time to stay, you can meet these Latinas on your own.

Alan, I deleted your original question in the General Topics Forum.

Any questions about the DR needs to be posted in the DR Forum, not General Topics Forum.

-Thanks

Was married to a Dominican from Santiago. Her skin was as white as snow and looked more Italian than hispanic. If your looking for very light skinned gals... Santiago is the place. I think they had alot of people from Spain and or Italy settled in Sanitago, which is VERY high elevation wise. Ray no doubt enjoyed the hilly ride from the capital to Santiago. Driving a car on your on can be very hazardous to your health. DR is alos known for heavy duty prostitution... especially in Boca Chica...
