Deleted Thread - Tonk Advice Inquiry

To all board members:
I just deleted the thread seeking some advice from Honky Tonk. It was with great reluctance and after spending quite a bit of time thinking about it. I am generally loath to engage in any form of censorship unless it involves personal attacks or clearly and without question violates board guidelines in the extreme.

Initially, I stayed out of the thread because I consider both Tonk and Clay friends and have spoken to each many times by phone, though never had the privilege of meeting either face to face. I intend to do so, however, as time permits.

It appeared to me that the thread had deteriorated into a series of posts and counter posts that could potentially damage the board and both individuals involved. It had the potential to create a polarization of membership that could cause long term harm and defeat the very purpose this board exists; indeed, threaten the existence of the board.

I hope you all understand my actions and further understand that in deleting the thread, I mean to take no position what so ever in regard to the disagreement exhibited in the posts. Again, I consider both people involved to be honorable men and hope that each of them understands the dilemma leaving it up would create.

P.S. - Greg I am sorry for having to delete the post you started. You asked a good question which deserves a response not only by HonkyTonk but also by other members. Unfortunately, sometimes threads take on a life of their own and there's not really much you can do about it.
