Default Forum Upgrade

Just a quick note to let the members know the forum has been upgraded. There are some new features, one being the new member profile system which allows you to create "friendships" and comment on members profiles.

Another feature is Tags, which, when you create a post, you can add Tags which will help others find it. So if you create a post about Brazil, you can tag it with Brazil, Women, etc, etc... whatever would best describe the post content. It's not necessary, however you will help others find information more quickly and relevantly.

You may notice some other features or slight changes. Should you discover any bugs, please feel free to post the issue in the Bug Report and Upgrades forum and they will be addressed.

Thank you.

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the new information.

I was wondering if the forum has a "user's manual" that could be posted. I think if there was a thread devoted to all the features and how to use them it would be very useful information to have. It seems like all the forums that I have ever looked at or participated on, including GT, is by trial and error or when someone like yourself points out a few features. Is there such an animal in the world of internet forums?

Thanks.

Asides from the forum FAQ (http://gringos.com/forum/faq.php) see Navbar, there is not really "Documentation" or a users guide that was written with the members in mind. There is documentation for vbulletin, however it is more technical, and directed towards the webmaster. It's really seek and try. You can't break anything... so no worries there.

I find most members use the forum and it's features to their abilities, and over the months / years they learn something new every day. As long as you can find the info you are looking for, and can effectively communicate with the other members of the site, you are doing fine

Enjoy the board.

My point exactly. The learning curve would be reduced substantially if there was one. Thanks for your quick reply though.
