Not able to check latest posts

Somehow after the gremlins appeared I have been unable to check the last post. When I usually go to quicklinks and todays posts, there is a button next to the name of the last poster. I can than tap that button and proceed to the last post in the thread and back track to where I left off last time i Checked it.

Is anyone else having that problem. I am actually not able to read any ofthe new posts in the Memeber living in Colombia thread! What's up with that?

LL, give these 2 things a try. Instead of Quick Links, try using the New Posts bar to the left and click on 1 day.

If that doesn't work, try accessing GringoTalk thru Internet Explorer. That's what I had to do over a week ago when the Board would no longer operate properly using my existing browser.

Thanks for the question. The small green squared image with an arrow in it, viewed from the main Board page, was deleted for reasons of speeding up the Board and we felt that no one used it to access today's new posts. However, we can bring this back today if you want. For all new posts, we always check the New Posts link in the Navigation Bar (top red bar with numerous hyperlinks - New Posts is located in middle of Bar). You can also click the topic link in the 'Last Post' column, and this will take you directly to the last post in that particular thread. We can bring the green arrow icons if you like, just let me know.

Seams to me that in the new posts you still have to start at the first post of a thread. And you cannot reverse to the last post from there. I guess I am the only one that uses it but I would really like it back. Thanks guys!

LL, you have the option of viewing threads from newest to oldest and vice versa. You can set that feature in the User CP on the left side of the red tool bar at the top of any page.

Go to the User CP, then Edit Options, then Thread Display Options. Lots of settings to customize for everyone.

Here's the deal ...the small green box icon with the arrow is, or was located next to the topic name in the Last Post column, and all topics had this icon. Now here's the catch, the topic word itself does the same thing as the Last Post icon. To prove my point, go to the main Board page and look to the right of the Cali Forum, you will see the word Adios by Sailover. Now click the word Adios, it will take you directly to the last post in that particular thread. Those little green/arrow indicators slow the Board down and I am all about function over form. I like speed because GT is about information and accessing that information in the quickest possible way, and I know some of us, when traveling abroad would appreciate this. We’ve decided to leave theses icons out as clicking the topic does the same thing. I hope I am explaining this clearly and effectively.
