Default Small Bug Found

I think that I found a small little bug on the forum. I've sent Rusty a PM about this last week but haven't heard back from him yet. Perhaps he didn't get my message so thought an announcement here might catch his attention.

Anyway, some of you might notice that in my signature line I like to put various web site links. I tried updating it the other day to a new one (http://www.opposingdigits.com/vlog/?p=68) but it will only refer to the last link I posted even though the new link is listed in my signature line. Click on it below to see what I mean. Weird huh, or is that just my punishment for no longer posting links to beautiful women on the internet?

Gee, even the link in my post doesn't go to the new link.

Tinto,

Not sure this is truly a bug - just an artifact of how HTML works. When you create a link in your signature, basically there are 2 parts... one is the text you see that is underlined, the second is the actual link location that you want people to go to when you click on that link.

So, in your example although you have changed the visual text part of the link, the old location is still applied to that link. This is a little confusing in your case because you want the LINK and the TEXT to match. The problem is, they are really 2 separate items, so if you only change one, the second needs to be adjusted as well.

So, there are 2 ways to handle changing your link...

1) Simply delete the old one and create a new one (easiest & recommended)

or

2) Using the full WYSIWYG editor, highlight the full underlined link - then press the REMOVE LINK button (chain image with a red X over it). You'll see that the text with your link is no longer an active link. Now, Highlight your text again, and press the Insert Link button. Type in the updated address and you're good to go.

Let me know if you have any questions about this - go ahead and try updating your own. Again, I think the easiest thing is just to remove the old link and create the new one...
