What Happened To Gringos.com?

Ok so , I haven't posted much lately, but i have checked in occasionally and I have to say it feels like this site is going in the wrong direction!!

Today after arriving home from a country I have fallen in love with, I read about 2 PIMPING Gringos in Bogota with their bull**** of a hotel, here is their link for all you saps who need to travel to latin america to get laid!

I mean having JIM and his loving of young women is one thing, but look at what this site is turning into. I like Jim but, his sexual preferences are great for him, even though I think he should keep them to himself, but having people post about their fricken brohels is another thing.

What really gets me pissed, is that 2 american men have to go to another country to open up a whorehouse??? WTF??? I am sure they would get thier asses kicked here by some mafiosas and truly I wouldn't be dissapointed if it happened to them in BOGOTA..

What a disgrace to this site and to me as an american who loves colombia, to travel and to know and experience other cultures! I mean there are plenty of sex sites on the internet and forums for sex mongers, I really hope this doesn't turn into one.

I used to recommend this site to all the gringos I have met south of the border, but I could not do it now!! When I first came here it was a great site for someone interested in knowing latin america and also for men who wanted to find a woman who valued family life, love, travel and all the great things that this site had to offer!

I only wonder what is going on now. I see we have a latine/ female forum available, what kind of females are we going to get with those kind of posters on this board???

I also see that Ray and Tonk have not been posting lately?? What is up with that??

And this site is for sale?? I understand it takes a lot of work to manage this site and HUGE KUDOS too RAY and TONK for that.. But what is next for this site??

Things have been slow before, worse than now, but have always picked up. I agree with some pretty lame stuff lately, but it only takes one member to shake it up and get some quality back and forth chatter. We've had a few good newbies join who have a story to tell. I look foreward to their future posts.

For me? I'm feeling the economy and have to work 3x as hard lately to make my business work. Everything's fine, it just takes more time to keep it running smoothly. I havn't have a full day off in over 3 weeks with no end in site I've just been too worn out to contribute much. It will pass and I'll be back to chillin' shortly It's not a lack of interest in the Board as I read and monitor it every day.

I shuffle a few threads into the proper forum, minor edit some posts, and a recent ban. When I get in after a 14 hour day like yesterday, my mind just goes blank as far as posting. I think others are in the same boat.

I agree with your post. It doesn't mean it will continue that way.

Good to see you back and I hope your trip was enjoyable. I've never had a bad vacation SOTB!

Hmmmm, I was hoping an honest nice young man full of piss and vinegar would move to Bogota with new ideas, give great service and start a new apartment rental business, I know someone that might even help out along the way.

About the pimping gringos you mentioned, I wouldn't count on them lasting very long, Colombia does have laws, and in Bogota most of them are actually enforced as far as gringo owned businesses are concerned, the DAS does not take it lightly when gringos exploit "their" citizens or take advantage of them in any way.

As for the board, Ray, Honky T and some others have always done a good job of keeping everything civilized, also there are still a few ole' timers around with experience that can always point someone in the right direction and not just blab out "here say" and BS. Everyone probably just needs a break.

LL, as a newbie, I can tell you that "Pimping Gringos" is not what I am looking for. I am looking for advice and experience from those who have been where I am going: Experience with the country of Colombia and experience with Colombian women in serious relationships. I don't think I'd need to do much reading if I were only interested in brothels, as they are all pretty much the same everywhere in the world (or so I've been told...hehehehe).

So yeah, I can do without that kind of stuff. After all, it only downgrades Colombia, and us, in the eyes of those who see this site for the first time.

I am in full agreement, our economy can't be making it easy for gringos to travel, let alone spend time on the net. For me that is a fact.

And Tonk you are the man in my book! I still dream about that damn motorcycle trip we haven't taken thru central america, I still hope that ends up in the cards for us! Couldn't think of a better man in front of me, well maybe behind we will see!!

Great to have you here MONGO.. And you nailed it.. Americans in general have slacked on manners over the past decades.. I have almost always been treated with repsect when in LAM, and usually the folks their still have impeccable social manners, So I always say be a good representative of us gringos when SOTB or anywhere in the world.

I remember being in cali a few years ago and I was flying out back to the states their were a couple of thugs (american gangster types) in line at the airport. Had their asses hanging out of their pants and talking like they did'nt know any other words than F*** S*** etc.. talking about the gals they had conquered.. I was totally embarrased and bummed, I quickly deassociated myself from them, and stayed as far away as possible, I could still hear their ranting 10 rows behind me on the airplane.. As usual when I see lame ass gringos SOTB, I run....

mmills , man they are still there, believe me, you may hear otherwise but they are bred there like a fine thoroughbreds!!! Hopefully that doesn't change in the near future!!!

LL, you know that I am extreme in my trying to protect and promote my Medellin and Colombia. One of the things that always gives me hope and a bright outlook is the men (and women, gracias, LG y Angie) on this board. When you mention the gringo pieces of caca that we see abroad, it makes me cringe, but then I think of the guys that I have met on this board (yourself included), ALL really good people. It is the other side of the coin, the dickwads that give gringos a black eye, and the stand-up gringos that act with respect toward the culture. Thanks much to the guys here for their love and class behavior when visiting my country. If you are a pimp or punk - COLOMBIA is closed for business - STAY THE **** OUT!!!!!!!!!
