Default Driving in Costa Rica

Hello. I am visiting Costa Rica in late October/early November. I was wondering how is driving down in Costa Rica as I was thinking of renting a small SUV to see the sights. Would you recommend renting a car or taking cabs/public transportation? Thanks. Mike

Default Driving CR

Public transportation is good, the bus stop in San Jose is a bit scary to some. I always rent a car as it gives me great independence. I rent a 4x4 anywhere from $200-$350 a week. Be on your toes in the cities as things move fast. As a former race car driver I love it, but I scare the crap out of my wife. Overall I feel very comfortable driving, especially out of the city. If you stay around San Jose rent a Garmin from the car company, if you are heading to either coast, maps and signs work just fine.

Renting a car in Costa Rica is much better better for sightseeing. It is most convenient because it covers insurance. To travel all around Costa Rica rent a car is the best way. Here I am providing link where you can find some more useful tips:
