Well, the Presidente is definately one of the places to stay down in the Gulch. I have stayed at the Hotel Morazan and Hotel La Gran Via. My next two trips I will be staying at the Sportsman's Lodge. It has been getting some great reviews from all the San Jose vets.

Last time I stayed in a great place: the hotel amon plaza, a clarion hotel. It is near the holiday Inn. It has a casino on the ground floor. Nice AC rooms, minibar refilled every day, nice cafe on first floor, hot tubs outside, great staff, comfy beds, I give it the thumbs up! (This was Feb. 2005)

I went to CR a few years ago and one of the places I stayed at was the Arenal Lodge near the volcano. What a great place!

I had stayed last year at Clarion Airport Hotel, nearest hotel to airport. They provide best services with cheaper rates. It also has swimming pool. Outside hotel you can easily find great restaurants, shopping and nightlife destinations are only a few minutes away.
