Default Living Costa Rica

Here is a link that looks to be of interest for people interested in living/relocating to Costa Rica. I haven't explored it yet. Costa Rica or the link. Here it is, http://www.livingcr.com/

I would like to hear something from someone who actually lives in Costa Rica and has first hand knowledge of the country as far as living, health, insurances both health & vehicle, rent and or own property. Go to people for information pertenant so someone like myself who just might be thinking about making that last final big earth shattering move. Retiring is a big step and I really would like to be pointed in the right direction. For that matter anyone from Belize, Guatemala, Panama, people with good information that can be put to good use.

Does anyone out there have any information about lawyers or real estate people that are respected and honest. Also the pensionado visa is good in Costa Rica as well as in Panama.

Costa Rice is the place of freedom to spend almost as little or much as you choose. There are lots of famous places to eat. Medical care is also inexpensive and of high quality. You can enjoy bird watching in many areas.

Attention, anyone interested in going to Costa Rica for vacation or moving there should buy Christopher Howard's book called"the new golden door to retirement and living in Costa Rica".Every question is answered from A to Z.
I just bought the book and I'm learning all I need to know about Costa Rica.

Also there's a site called Caravan Tours - Escorted tours and all-inclusive vacations with tour operators. ,check it out.I'm going on that tour in March.

Good luck, hope this info is helpful.

Default Recommended Attorneys

It looks like you are asking about real estate attorneys. I would recommend Carlos Hernandez and his group from Facio Abogados. They speak English perfectly and deal primarily in real estate. Juan Manuel is my favorite associate to work with.

For realtors, try Hidden Coast Realty in Guanacaste or Oscar Segnini in San Jose.

I'm here on a two month exploration of CR as a possible place to retire for the winters. What I have discovered very quickly is that the only thing cheap here is rent, health care and bus fares. Everything else is really expensive - food, electronics, cars, light bulbs, you name it, it won't be cheap and likely to cost more than the states.
EVERY single expat I've talked to says the same thing to me: RENT DON'T BUY or Build.

I've found renting to be very affordable for small, well furnished places that include cable and wifi and utilities from $350 - $650 month - all of these with fabulous views, without which is a deal breaker for me as far as rentals go.

If you rent, you are free from all home ownership hassels and you are free to go to another area for a different experience, a different micro-climate, exciting new terrain and friends. If you buy, you're stuck where you are and selling can take a year and often longer.

I hope this helps.
