I wanted to add that i believe there are many excellent ways to make contact with wonderful women in Peru, without using agencies. Of course the more comfortable you are with Spanish in Peru, the easier it will be. Like other countries that have been identified and discussed in GringoTalk, you need to be careful, but open to some wonderful opportunities available in all areas of Peru. Developing friendships with some local men and women can be a big help, along with becoming aware of some of the social and cultural organizations present in Lima or other cities.

If you would like more info, I will present more of my experiences.

Actually John Wayne I will take you up on your offer. A few beers sounds better than an ass kicking, which I surely have experienced a few times in my life when I either played or coached high school sports. However the only ass kicking I would enjoy now would come in a slightly different arena!!
Where do I meet you for those beers and my limit is usually one, but I will be happy to buy you a few! I can tell you that I met my wife on my first trip to Peru in 2000. I had already traveled to Colombia 4 times and had a novia de Colombia for 1 year(de Bogota)! My wife and I met when I approached her in a book store, during my first day in Peru. During that first trip I met two other beautiful Peruvian women who were great marriage material and one of them remains a good personal and business friend today. She married a great guy from Paris and I was honored to be the only gringo at the wedding and the only gringo that could dance Salsa, merenque and bachata along with our stuff. I will fill you in with more data later as I have some patients to attend to now and another post will get me closer to that magic barrier of 10 posts. Look forward to your response and my wife and I were friends for a year before anything really serious happened!!

Hasta pronto!

One great way I have identified for meeting some wonderful women who are great marriage material in Peru, is through my work as a psychologist. By presenting at different universities and conferences, I have met many women that I could have been interested in following through with if I was not married. In this way the women can really feel you out and understand the quality of person you are by how you carry yourself. Additionally I have developed a few good relationships with other professionals in Lima who would gladly introduce me to prospects if it was necessary. During my fourth or fifth trip to Peru I was working on a project with a Peruvian plastic surgeon. He took me to a meeting with a congresswoman in Lima( one of 120 congresistas in Peru) at her and her husbands home. While I was there her beautiful, sexy, etc. 25year old year old secretary was real interested in getting to know me better. I would have loved to, but my situation just did not allow it. So I believeif you think creatively, use your personal and professional resourses and become reasonably capable with the language the possibilities are endless.

Hasta tarde,

Another way that I have encountered some wonderful women and people in Lima is through an English Rotary meeting that is held weekly at the Marriot Hotel. You can make some excellent contacts who probably would be happy to introduce you to women they know. Additionally I have attended events through the American/Canadian Association of Peru in Lima and have had a great social time and met lovely women and some other excellent people that could become great contacts. Actually my wife is attending a social event there this evening and is bringing one of her single friends.

You have said a mouthful Mr. Dragon.....

If you want to meet good people...

You have go get out and mingle......

Like Revardo says, be aware of your suroundings and go for it.....

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town....

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way... (Pink Floyd)

Ain't gone get the job done.....

drask48 -

Welcome! You certainly have to start a new thread on Peru as soon as you are able. Your posts are thoughtful and well written. Ignore the likes of JW and Myself, we live in Nic and Col for reasons other than stated. Although, I have to say that accusations and convictions are two entirely different things.

Love - Micky
