The week was up and Bryan had enough of Rio and so did I so he bailed
back to Florida and I had to give Recife another shot. I was in Recife
another 2 weeks and it was up and down. Overall it was not what I
expected. Not knowing portuguese. Not knowing the locals. Very hot.
hookers all over Boa Viagem area. Your beginning to see the picture.
Don't get me wrong though, I did meet a few woman that wanted to get
serious but there were just to many variables to deal with. I did hook
up with a japanese Brazilian guy who took a likeing to me and took me
out a few times. We went downtown to "old Recife". There was a concert
on a Saturday night and we were in a huge crowd and it began to rain and
people went nuts-punching and shoving. I had my wallet in my front
pocket and was velcrowed and zipped. I got pick pocketed. It's my
fault as I should have gabbed my pocket but I wasn't thinking. It was
professional job. A few other people got hit too. They got my 3 major
credit cards, my driver license and about $200US. At this point I am
saying to myself "What the hell am I doing here?" I spent the next 7
hours at the tourist police station at the airport trying to cancel my
cards and somehow get new ones sent to me in Brazil. A real headache!
So a few more days were spent layin' on the beach, hitting the mall but
things just were not clicking for me. So to break it down,,,

1. Colombia is very similar to Brazil-poor people, not alot of jobs and
yes the woman in Recife would move to the US if they found a good man
and the same in Rio BUT in Colombia I think the woman are much more
motivated.
2. Brazilian woman are similar to Colombianas in physical statue(the
body). But I think the attitude is better in Colombia. I talked to
some local guys and they told me alot of Brazilian woman like to fool
around-even the non-hookers.
3. You will see alot of european guys from Italy, Brussals, Holland,
Potrugal, Germany and I felt they viewed me and Bryan as unwanted
competition.

So to end it I will say Brazil is ok. To meet the nice wife-material
woman one should go to this part of Brazil and get an apartment and get
in with the local people. Stay at least 3 months and you really must
know portugese. Get the hell away from Boa Viagem. Another thought if
you did meet a nice woman there the flight to and from is hell. I left
Recife at 7AM on a Tuesday and got to SP at 12-noon then to Orlando
arriving at 8:30pm-this is 13 and half hours of sitting in a small chair
on a plane!! I'm sorry if this sounds a bit negative but this only MY
OPINION HERE and take it as that. I hope this helped some guys here who
were thinking of Brazil for a wife and if anyone has any specific
questions-don't hesitate to ask. I can't think of anything else.
