Ray, didn't you just get done saying that Brazil is only issuing 90-day visas to gringos now? I would sure like to get another five-year visa like before; in fact I was a little bit discouraged by your previous post given all the rigamarole involved in getting a visa-- almost not worth the hassle if it's only for one trip. And aren't your instructions to Sail-O (Sai-Lo?) a bit oversimplified? Or would he get special treatment for some reason?

Thumbs up Re: Brazil visas

Buel -

Try, go for it. What do you have to lose?

I just think that Sailover; since he has no history in Brasil and he fits the serious type guy or non-monger, he might get the five year visa say over a younger dude with unscrupulous looks or a dude who looks like a probable misfit going to Brazil for the wrong reasons as AzjetPilot (Enrigue) pointed out. I think with your work history in Floripa and you are a serious man, that said, I don´t see why they would turn you down on the five year deal. Just go in person, wear a suit and tie and speak your best Portusguese to the lady taking your application. Add to all your docs a special letter typed in English and Portuguese of your love for Brazil, then as you leave, make a sincere comment about her hair or whatever you find attractive about her with a big smile.

Exclamation Re: Brazil visas

You didnt understand.. what it is..

They are issuing visas and you have 3 months to get on a plane and go there. But then once you are there then you have you can stay for 3 months. at a time before you have to leave the country. So for example....

I get my visa on january the first. Then i have until the end of march to get on a flight to brasil. When i am there.. lets say i leave on the 31st of march... when i am there i can stay until June the 30th then i have to leave again and i can just go back on the 2nd of july..... And the process goes on until the visa expires within 5 years of the day you went into brasil.

:detectiveid you understand:detective: ????
