I was in Argentina in late 2005 visiting some friends. I wasn't there looking for any agencies per say, however, I did meet many fine, beautiful women there. It was just through being social at the various neighborhoods in Buenos Aires that I visited, i.e. Palermo, Ricoletta etc... I must also say that they have some of the best wine around. The Malbec grape flourishes in Argentina and there are some great vineyards there. Also, I must comment on the steak there. Argentina has the base steak in the world! It's very natural with no hormonal additives. Go there for the women, wine and steak and you'll have a great time! Unfortunately I have no information relative to any agencies there.

If I want good wine and steak, I will go to Ruth's Chris. It is the COMPANY you have while enjoying those things that aren't on their menu. (or any in the USA)

I'm hoping to return soon to Argentina to give it careful consideration for a place to retire. One of the cities that I visited before was Mendoza and was very impressed with this wonderful city that produces some very excellent wines, most notably, malbec.

Another city that I want to see is Bariloche. It has been called by some the Aspen of South America. How is this for an incredible view that the people have there:

For fear of sounding like a IL shill I would like to post another article from them, this time about Argentina. I know there are a few others on the board that are interested in this country. I hope you find the article useful. After my trip I will do a trip report.

Probably better, as you will not need eyes in the back of your head, with all the Colombian crime in that country and no police, everyone locks their doors with many locks, security guards everywhere, etc..
A place where you can bring family and not worry.
Travel without care.
You will not have to deal with crazy zoning and inane govt regulations.

Another board member commented how nice that photo above is. Here is a shot of the city and a couple good links below with multiple pages of some incredible scenery. Too bad the city looks so run down, all those poor barrios and so much pollution!

I can see why it is such an undesirable place to visit! Let's recap. Beautiful women, beautiful city, beautiful surroundings. What was the down side again?

Cold, expensive and European-type personalities. Other than that, it is paradise.

This wasn't my experience of Argentina. 40ºC isn't cold. With its peso still at over 3 per dollar, it's cheaper than Brazil right now. In fact when I visited it was (probably still is) cheaper than Paraguay also. And while you won't have beauties throwing themselves at you like in some other countries, I met plenty of very nice people there.

Thumbs up

I´m with the majority on this one. Argentina is hard to ignore, more so after seeing a guy on HGTV move there from the States on House Hunters International. This guy is living it up, fine looking women, cheap housing, nice people and unlike Colombia and other parts in South America, you can venture outside the city and not fear for your life.

I saw that episode. I think he is from Michigan. He bought a fix-me-up and totally renovated it. Really good episode and very informative! Buenos Aires in Argentina is definitely a sound choice to go ex-pat.
