Default Re: An Anniversary Celebrated

The wife and daughter have not had to fly in and out once a month, for the last year. We had the temporary residency permit (because we were building) and so all was fine. Sorry I didn't make that clear. We will have another year, during the appeal process, so we will not be going through that hassle again, until a year from now.

Although it could still work out, I estimate success of getting full appproval at about 40 to 50 per cent. I have had offers from some good friends to try and help but that is not my way.

Being self employed for 20 some years has also created a problem in my case. I just do not fit in to their little boxes. Also to be fair, after jumping through all the hoops and paper work twice already, I have made up my mind that I will not sign any more amn papers or fly back to the US for another new 'required' document.

Thanks Tonk. We will just wait and see.

LL, I would live on the beach in a heart beat, but the Mrs. (a mountain gal) can not, even though she has tried.

I really can't blame her as I found out from a Doctor here that as many as 20% of the Panamian population suffers from type of heat, allergy, or hoof and mouth desease. She tried the Bocas thing but her body just didn't adapt to the heat.

Have to admit as much as I love living by 'the big pond', I am really getting into the mountain life. Can't explain it.

LOTS of mountains in colombia.. \

Man that just sucks cap'n.. I would say F-you to panama and put my money somewhere else.. This is another plain and simply backassward thing about the Latin culture in PANAMA..

I can't remember why you are opposed to living in colombia, but could you remind me again?
